Fiction is a made-up story that has no factual or real, historical basis.  However, there are a number of historical records that show that Jesus actually lived.  Apart from the biographies of Jesus (the books or Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in the Bible), there is non-Christian, historical evidence that shows that Jesus lived on the earth.

 

Jesus was mentioned by Josephus, a first-century Jewish historian, in his writings and also by Tacitus, an important Roman historian and by Pliny the Younger, another Roman writer.  So, the historical evidence is there.  Jesus lived, as a man, on the earth.  He was a real person but he was much more than just a person.
